Hello all. Sorry for the paucity in publishing these days. I've been skewered on the dual prongs of working motherhood. I have a very bored, frustrated five year old on my hands. Summer camp was canceled. Ah well. School will be back in session soon. I must admit I'm looking forward to a little me time and the ability to string a few thoughts together in a row. In the meanwhile, please enjoy a little Shawn Colvin. I think she's been doing some of the best work of her career.

I love her, and have a lot of her music, I agree she is nuanced. I am not a very good finger picker, never have been. I am more or less the rythym (12 string) player behind my guys.
Good musical choice, C. I'm glad to see that Shawn has abandoned her brief flirtation with Pop, and has return to making music for adults.
By the way, glad you're back. Missed ya.
Hey d.r.
Nice to see you. I agree with you on Shawn Colvin. I loved her early work, and some, but not all of her more mainstream stuff. But she's really gotten back to her roots with the most recent album. Also of note and, near as I can tell, only available on iTunes or for listening pleasure on MySpace is her cover of Gnarls Barkley's "Crazy." It's unbelievably awesome. I know how you feel about covers, but I really think she made this one hers.
