Joe Lieberman: Extortionist

Tuesday, November 14, 2006

It didn't take long did it?

Senator Joseph I. Lieberman of Connecticut said yesterday that he will caucus with Senate Democrats in the new Congress, but he would not rule out switching to the Republican caucus if he starts to feel uncomfortable among Democrats.

As I pointed out during the CT primary season, Joe Lieberman is not a "nice guy." He's an unbridled egotist who will stop at nothing to get his own way; a passive-aggressive whiner whose non-threatening, girl-haired, appearance, obscures a damaging visciousness.

In the primary he openly tried to extort Democratic voters. Now it's Senate Democrats whose narrow victory could be overturned with a flip of his bony wrist. He'll hold anyone hostage to his ambitions, whether its CT voters, Senate Democrats, or the entire, massive-change-wanting country.

Hi Curmudgette,

Thanks for blogging on this. You said, "Now it's Senate Democrats whose narrow victory could be overturned with a flip of his bony wrist." For now, this may be true, but there is a solution: The DNC leadership could offer a disaffected member of the GOP Party a guaranteed Chairmanship if they leave the republican party. This would make Lieberman's threat meaningless.

:-)

Yes constant,

I'm hearing rumblings about Dems wooing Susan Collins. I don't know how true or plausible it is. One way or another Dems need to cut Lieberman's legs out from under him. The problem is he still has powerful, if quiet, allies within the Democratic Party... and so does the war in Iraq. That's what this is really about. There are still a lot of Dems invested in circumventing the overwhelming will of the majority who want us out of Iraq.
